STORY TELLING

In May 6,2003 we conduct a storytelling to the two villages of President Roxas.The village of Cabangbangan and Idaoman.We went first to the village of Cabangbangan.We experience difficulties in our trip because the road is not yet finished. Cabangbangan is not too far from Kidapawan.But we reach the village with in 20 minutes.
We are hurrying the time because of miscommunication, for they don’t inform us early about the schedule. When we reach Cabangbangan we have seen their beautiful place. This is a mountainous place, planted with coconut, corn and has a wide rice field and rich with water because there is a river to supply the water in the rice field.
Cabangbangan is a peaceful village, the people who lived there are mostly Antiqueno’s and Ilonggo’s.They are warmly welcome us to their place .There are many children who joined with us to listened and read the books .The captain of the village was also their and wait for us until we finished our activities together with the parents , who are also interested to listened with us.I noticed that the parents are very interested that their children will joined for the story telling.I see the joy in their face because they are very excited in reading the stories and look for the picture in books,because even some of them are studying but they don’t seen this kind of books that we have the MCL [Mindanao Children's Library] provide for the children.
We’re very happy for them and also for their parents, because I noticed that the parents are also interested, they are also listening us maybe because they never heard or even seen this kind of story ever since.
In the afternoon of the same day we conduct also a story telling in the village of Idaoman President Roxas.They also welcome us, there are also many children who joined with the story telling. We are happy because the people are now responding with our program, because these two villages are asking a monthly schedule from us. This proof that our programs have a good effect to the children.
The children are very lucky because they can avail these kind of program that occasionally happened in there place. We the staff of MCL [Mindanao Children's Library] are very happy also because we can help the children who need to be happy and especially they learned more about the story.
