人は離れ小島ではない
一人で独立してはいない
人は皆大陸の一部
もしその土が波に洗われると
ヨーロッパ大陸は狭くなっていく
さながら岬が波に削られていくように
あなたの友やあなたの土地が
波に流されていくように
誰かが死ぬのもこれに似て
我が身を削られるのも同じ
なぜなら自らも人類の一部
